Béla Bartók and Antonín Dvořák gave the music of their homeland a face, voice and sound, each in their own individual way. Melodic and rhythmic elements that are characteristic of Hungary and Bohemia have been incorporated into many of their works. Bartók's 1st Violin Concerto, an early work from 1907/08, was written out of deep emotional emotion and represents his style with its elegance and liveliness. Similarly, Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, composed in 1889, is music that captivates with its inventiveness and spirit of experimentation as well as its melodic and rhythmic qualities, while at the same time proving to be immensely varied and colourful.
