Alessandra Bareggi

Italian born dancer, choreographer and assistant Alessandra Bareggi has been working in
leading international Opera Houses.
For the last few years Alessandra has been working on opera productions with Romeo Castellucci as a dancer, choreography revival, assistant and movement director. One recent highlight being Rheingold and Die Walkurie at La Monnaie in Bruxelles in the season 2023/24. Her collaboration with stage director Giulia Giammona includes two opera productions at the Salzburg Festspiele: Ravel’s "Das Kind und die Zauberdinge" in 2023 and Orff’s "Die Kluge" in 2024. They have also collaborated on Penelope, a theater piece by Leonora Carrington.
Additionally Alessandra has worked as an assistant at houses such as the Opera de Liege, Salzburg Festival or Theater an Der Wien.
Her professional career begun in Madrid in 2010 with Victor Ullate and the Compania Nacional. She joined the New York Metropolitan Opera from 2013 until 2015 and then returned to Europe and Russia to work at the Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Salzburg Festspiele, Paris Opera, La Monnaie, Mikhailovsky Theater, Opera de Lausanne, Teatro Real, Teatro del Liceu, Bayerische Staatsoper, Arena di Verona and others. She has participated in multiple Asian tours with different Opera houses. Her formation begun in Milano at La Scala ballet school, with Michele Villanova and Anita Magyari and graduated in Madrid; her ballet and opera repertoire includes over 100 titles by now and she has worked with directors such as Pier Luigi Pizzi, Robert Carsen, Kristof Warlikowski, Barrie Kosky, Stefano Poda, Christoph Marthaler, Alvis Hermanis, Robert Lepage and Choreographer Christal Pyte.
In the season 2024/25 with stage director Giulia Giammona, Alessandra will choreograph “Oberon” at Staatsoper Berlin Kinderopernhaus, “Strauss Dynastie” at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, and the world premiere “Anna A.” by italian composer Silvia Colasanti at Teatro alla Scala. She is currently collaborating with dancer/choreographer Hillel Perlmann and violist Orhan Celebi on the creation of an instrumental theater performance. As a dancer she will be taking part in productions at La Scala, Teatro del Liceu and the Wiener Staatsoper and other places
during the 24/25 season.
