Denis Kozhukhin will replace Martha Argerich who fell ill

We are sorry to tell you that Martha Argerich had to cancel her performance in the duo recital at short notice as she caught a severe cold. Tomorrow, Denis Kozhukhin will be replacing her and will be performing in the Philharmonie Berlin together with Gidon Kremer in our FESTTAGE concert. The program, of which only the first part was changed, lists sonatas No. 2 op. 95 for violin solo and No. 3 op. 126 for violin solo by Mieczyslaw Weinberg and 7 Fantasies op. 116 for piano by Johannes Brahms as well as the sonata A major for violin and piano FWV 8 by César Franck.

Denis Kozhukhin caused quite a stir internationally when he won the first prize of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competiton in Brussels in 2010 at the young age of 23 years. Since that time he has performed on a large number of well-known festivals and in many concert halls, among others on the Verbier Festival, where he was awarded the Prix d'Honneur in 2003, the Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, the Klavier-Festival Ruhr, the Rheingau Musik Festival, in the Carnegie Hall, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Tonhalle in Zurich, in De Doelen Rotterdam, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris.

Any tickets purchased will remain valid or can be refunded.
