The last production in this season for the INFEKTION! festival is a very special evening. The »Récitations« by Georges Aperghis are a compendium of vocal techniques like no other. With virtuosity and sublime wit the composer shows what the new art of singing can express from the music as well as a content point of view. The Paris based Greek composer Georges Aperghis wrote the »Récitations« between 1978 and 1979 for one female solo singer. Similar to Sciarrino's »Vanitas« this work does not have a storyline in the usual sense of the word. Aperghis took everyday speech as his inspiration, everything which happens behind and beside speaking, as he says: »Le plus important est toujours à côté ...« - »The most important things always happen along the way ...«
