Daniel Barenboim and Wiener Philharmoniker met for the first time way back in the 1960s. At that time he was a guest pianist performing with them, and in 1989 he conducted the orchestra for the first time. The 25th anniversary of this creative cooperation will be acknowledged with an invitation to the New Year’s concert in Vienna in 2014 and with a FESTTAGE concert in Berlin: Together the conductor and the orchestra will perform an ingenious programme of Viennese classics, Mozart’s three last symphonies.
